Love and llamas with a chance of downpour.
Will & Whitney, two North Carolinians turned Aussie, created the most well balanced wedding atmosphere in Asheville, NC. Their overwhelming love for each other was well matched by the love and support their guests had for them.
Whitney was a glowing bombshell on her big day. Her contagious smile and celebratory vibe was even more distracting than the beautiful mountain views.
Will's sweet spirit and lovable humor won over my favorite memory of the day. He had drawn a stick-figure cartoon of him and Whitney under church bells on the outside of a note. The words he wrote inside had every bridesmaid in the room tearing up. You don't get better moments than that..
Those who don't wander, are lost... That's what I think the saying should be anyway.
Whether it's a day in the backwoods or a semester traveling abroad, I'm a huge advocate of experiencing new things in unexpected places. Traveling and taking photos is my favorite way of expressing that.
This album is dedicated to inspiring you to get out and go places.

Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
Prague & Český Krumlov, Czech Republic
Ko Phi Phi, Thailand
Katmandu, Nepal
Chitwan National Park, Nepal
Paris, France
Seville, Spain
Granada, Nicaragua

My favorite travel memory... I don't think I can say. About half of my very best memories are from traveling. The loved ones that have traveled by my side, the people I've met along the way, the food I scarfed and the trails I've walked. The wandering's not over for me, so maybe my favorite memory is still to come?
I generally live by the rules, but with the temptation of graffiti, smoke bombs and one fiery couple on the table... I couldn't resist jumping a few fences.
Because what's better than love in an abandoned pool on a less-than-deserted island?
My favorite moment: As soon as we made it over the fences, we heard people coming by, so I signaled to Emily and Tommy to "get down!"... Instead, they started posing, like that was the beginning of the shoot while I was crouched. One cute photo (see second one down) was taken, then they crouched along with me.
*Disclaimer: no love birds were harmed for the creation of these photos.
Giving life is just the beginning of a life-long novel. A couple puts their hands on their pregnant belly and before you know it, their cradling a little tiny human- it's truly a mind boggling start to a journey.
Meet Katie and Dave.
Katie's the most pure-at-heart person I've ever met. She's a 3rd grade teacher at a low income elementary school in Oakland and has the patience of a Saint.
Dave compliments Katie to a T with his bashful smiles and witty nature. I know he will make a very caring, protective dad. :)
And here comes Nina.
Her little personality is a mystery for now, but day by day, she's showing her traits.
My favorite moment of this shoot was trying to keep little Nina asleep while molding her into place to capture her sweetness. This takes more effort that you think!
In 2015, roughly once a month, I would go to Diane Davidson's house, home of the Cast Iron Kitchen, to photograph her handcrafted Paleo meals.
It was such a delight to capture AND taste-test these culinary masterpieces, but most of all, Diane's spunky, sweet personality made it meaningful.
Take away memory - that girl and her hollandaise sauce...

Meet Lindsey.
She's a "copywriter, editor, social media strategist and all-around passion-pursuer". I took her words for it because that's kind of her thing, not mine.
When I met Lindsey, she had this wonderful website, full of her written words, but it was missing something big - color and photos. I took on the challenge to see her vision, but make it visual! Now, her website is bad ass. Seriously and quite literally, see her "Spiritual Bad Ass Life".
My favorite moment: On our photo adventure, we came across a sexy, red scooter, the perfect prop! I handed her my RayBans and said, "Lindsey, go act like that scooter's yours and look like the bad ass that you are." ((Photo proof in gallery))
I had always loved taking photos, but it wasn't until I started taking pictures of live music that I knew I had found my calling. Low light photography can be a bit of a challenge, but stage lights and visuals are just too fun to play with!
Someone want to slip me a media pass to the next festival? I'll travel for it!
Bands shown:
Empire of the Sun
MSMR
Cherub

"Keep close to nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." - John Muir
Every time I think back on my trek around the Annapurnas (March 2014), I get an overwhelming appreciation for God's creation and the people of Nepal. I think about the adorable tea houses we stayed in, the doctor that motorcycled from an hour away to give Jordan meds and wait until his fever broke (cost=$30), to the tallest mountains in the world towering above, just waiting for us to take a break, a deep breath and a look around to appreciate them.
I also have those feelings of pure awe and appreciation for Nepal because of the devastation that came so quickly after we left. My thoughts and prayers go to the villages we trekked through that might not exist anymore.
My favorite memory: Getting over that 18,000ft "hump" and after trekking for 14 hours straight, biting into a yak burger topped with yak cheese.
